Differentiation

Differentiation is a process in which all students are accommodated and appropriately challenged. It is a key skill for teachers of 21st Century Learners due to variety of backgrounds, interests and cultural diversity in modern day classrooms. Providing a personalised learning approach where differentiation is at the forefront demands teachers know their students well so they can provide each one with experiences and tasks that will improve learning, spark curiosity, and increase engagement.

There is no room in our complex classroom environments for a one-size-fits-all approach to schooling. Teaching students at their point of need has a significant impact on student learning. There are many ways teachers can provide a personalised learning experience for students, however, almost all approaches fall under three categories.
